CAR SHIPPING QUOTE INFO

There are many things to consider about the cost of shipping your vehicle:

  • Year/Make/Model
  • Size/Weight/Dimensions
  • Distance/Route/Season
  • Vehicle special needs (In-op, enclosed...etc.)

AUTO TRANSPORT QUOTES VARY BECAUSE...

BEWARE of transport ‘guarantees’ (get it in writing), ‘instant’ quotes’ or ‘cheap’ rates...

  • Every broker sets their own rates. There is no guarantee in the transport industry however, the higher the rate, the faster your vehicle will move. The lower the rate, the longer you will wait as higher paying freight is always loaded first!
  • Some brokers will under bid to gain your business and then increase your rate after they have trouble assigning it.
  • There is a difference between Auto Transport Brokers and Auto Transport Carriers. These two industries operate/rely on the other.  A Broker has no trucks of their own and is licensed and bonded to locate a reputable carrier for you.  Carriers own their own equipment and each individual truck carries its own insurance (cargo and liability).
  • Inexperience/Lack of auto transport knowledge- A good transporter knows the industry well.

-BUSY SEASON/SNOWBIRDS-

*It may cost more to ship your unit during the busy season as space is limited and freight is overabundant. Please read our FAQS section about shipping articles/belongings in your vehicle

Did you consider...??

  • Weather Conditions
  • Fees/Tolls Driver may have to pay
  • Port Deliveries- Drivers MUST be certified by Homeland Security in enter to enter the Port premises (Limits the number of available drivers)
  • Special Needs/Equipment- It is important to know the condition of your vehicle in advance so we can send a properly equipped/sized truck.
  • Inoperable units are not easy to load/unload/transport

Frequently Asked Auto Transport Questions

How does the transport process Work?

After you have placed your order with us, we begin looking for a truck that can accommodate our shipping needs. (Generally 2-7 days depending on route/season/vehicle). Once a truck has been secured for your order, the driver himself will make contact with you to arrange for pickup and delivery. Most transports are completed within 3-7 days depending on how long the route is.

How far in advance should I place my order?

2 weeks advance notice is preferred although we have customers that get placed on the schedule up to 6 months in advance! (Snowbirds, who split their time between the North and the South) Generally, a weeks advance notice is sufficient unless the unit/route is a more difficult one.

Is my vehicle Insured during Transport?

YES! Each individual truck is insured and we are here to verify that for you. We only use licensed, insured, reputable carriers. Your own insurance is secondary to the carriers primary insurance. The carrier is responsible for any damage caused directly by him, and NOT responsible for damage NOT caused directly by him (Acts of Nature, Mechanical malfunctions, flat tires, broken glass.. etc.)

What happens if my vehicle is damaged?

We make a claim with the carriers insurance company and we are here to assist in the process. Most carriers carry a deductible of $1500-$2500 so if the damage is greater than their deductible, we make a claim. If the amount of damage is less that deductible, we settle with the carrier directly out-of-pocket. Generally, transport fees are still paid.

Can I put personal belongings in my vehicle?

The correct/proper answer is NO. The carrier cannot be responsible for personal belongings as he is not licensed or insured to cover these items. The items may become damaged during transport, or even cause damage to the interior of your vehicle for which you would have no coverage. Weight is an issue on the road as well. The carrier pays a hefty fine for every pound over weight/length.

(At times, at the shipper's own risk, the carrier will transport 150lbs or less of personal items in the cargo area only as long as he is told in advance and compensated for his 'extras')

Shipping TV's, computers or anything of value is NOT recommended.

Shipping perishables/medications are NOT recommended as the truck may become delayed due to reasons beyond his control.

What if my vehicle does NOT run or has special needs?

No problem. Just make sure we are aware of the vehicle's condition/needs in advance so we can send the proper equipment and properly rate your transport.

Anything that prevents the vehicle being driven on and off the truck makes a unit inoperable.
