| IS MY
VEHICLE INSURED? WHAT IS COVERED? |
|
-Yes! In more ways than one. All
transporters are required by law to carry a minimum of $750,000
liability insurance as well as adequate cargo insurance (enough to
cover the truck's cargo fully loaded). NOTE: The carrier is only
responsible for damages caused directly by the carrier himself.
Should there be an accident to no fault of the driver (i.e. weather
fallout, vandalism..) your own insurance should accept the claim as
long as your vehicle was insured during time of transport.
Carrier insurance coverage is primary and
your personal coverage is secondary.
|
| HOW LONG
DOES THE PROCESS TAKE? |
-This depends on many factors.
Route/season/weather/rate all affect the transport
availability/process. Generally, vehicles are scheduled 2-7 days
from order. Since we do not use terminals, our carriers usually
deliver within 2-7 days of pick-up.
*Odd/difficult routes,
special needs and other factors may take longer to schedule.
|
| HOW DO I
PAY? |
-You have your choice of two ways. NO DEPOSIT
REQUIRED prior to being scheduled upon a truck. Once your vehicle
has been assigned, you may pay in full via credit card or leave a
deposit with us and pay the remaining balance to the carrier upon
delivery. Cash, Cashiers Check or Money Order ONLY. No
personal checks. Full payment MUST be received prior
to delivery.
|
| CAN I PUT
ANY PERSONAL ITEMS IN MY VEHICLE? |
-Technically, generally and legally.. no.
First, a carrier's transporting authority limits them to the type of
freight they can carry. Second, once trucks are fully loaded, every
pound makes a difference as DOT regulations are strict on
over-weight violations and charge HEFTY fines for every one pound
over. Third, carriers cannot be held responsible for items inside as
they are not with their truck at all times. Personal items can
attract vandalism. Personal items are not covered by truckers'
insurance. Vehicles only!
If you still feel comfortable
enough to transport items with your vehicle, please keep belongings
under 100 lbs. and in the cargo area only!
|
| WHATS THE
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BROKER AND A
CARRIER? |
A Broker is licensed to arrange for and mediate
the entire transport process. Brokers are well aware of their
carriers' reputation in the transport industry. Most Brokers work
very well together and keep other Brokers up to date on bad carrier
experiences. (Yes..we have a 'secret' underground network dedicated
solely to this purpose.) We have access to numerous trucks
nationwide and therefore, can place your shipment upon the
first available truck.
Brokers
represent a network of carriers, where a carrier represents only
themselves.
A Carrier is licensed
to transport your freight on their truck
only. They are not licensed to 'arrange for' transport on any
other truck but their own. Some carriers may represent
themselves as brokers when in fact, they are not. (FMCSA to
verify)
*Neither is better than
the other... and each cannot survive without the
other...
|
| *DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE MEANS...? |
-Trucks need to park somewhere where they
can load/unload, conduct their business and get back out. They
may be there for 30 minutes or more and cannot block traffic or
driveways.. Generally, they cannot enter a residential area.
The closest large parking lot to your location is the
ideal place for the truck. If your vehicle is going
to/from a business or location that it can reach with no problems,
then we will literally transport door-to door! *Please keep in mind of narrow streets, limited parking and
low trees!!

| I
RECEIVED A CHEAPER QUOTE, CAN YOU MATCH IT/BEAT
IT? |
This is one of the biggest problems
in the transport industry, for both carriers and brokers. Some
transporters are so desperate for the business, they under-cut their
competitors. Weeks later, clients call us back frustrated
why their car has not moved. Truckers choose their freight and
will always take treat the better rated cars with priority while the
'cheaper' cars get looked over again and again...
Your
transportation specialist must offer the best rate to the
trucker in order to ensure a quality
transport. So no, we do not offer 'cheap'
rates because we do not offer 'cheap' service! Your
quote should be a reflection of the level and quality of
service you expect.
|
| WHAT IF I
NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM? |
Transport fees are still due. Claims are filed
separately, directly with the carriers insurance company. We will
help you file the original claim and ensure that the procedure is
handled in a professional and timely manner. We are here to help and
have access to the necessary legal documentation that may need to be
submitted to support the claim.
|
| DO YOU
USE TERMINALS? |
The majority of the time, no. However, at times
we may have to make alternative arrangements to accommodate your
transport needs/time frame. We have connections nationwide that are
willing to work with us!
|
